From Persia, Reborn
Peyk is a Persian raisin spirit returned to the table, made in Yorkshire, faithful to a tradition older than the country it was born in.

The Heritage
For generations, Aragh Saggi has been more than a spirit; it has been a silent companion to celebration, rebellion, and deeply held tradition. Translated literally as "dog's sweat" — a colloquial nod to its raw, unyielding nature — this traditional Persian distillate has long been the underground lifeblood of Iranian gatherings, crafted in secret and shared in hushed intimacy.
The history of Aragh Saggi is steeped in the complexities of modern Iran. Before 1979, the Meikadeh company proudly produced this potent raisin-based spirit, its bottles adorned with a distinctive beagle emblem. The subsequent prohibition forced its production into the shadows, transforming a commercial staple into an act of quiet defiance.
This era of clandestine distillation imbued Aragh Saggi with a new mystique, turning it into a symbol of resilience. Yet, the quality varied wildly. The true essence of the spirit — its crisp, fruit-forward notes derived from sultana raisins — was often lost in the crude distillation processes necessary for secrecy.

“Arak was never just a drink. It was a ritual — and we are bringing the ritual back.”
Enter Reza Lami and Faz Fallah, two members of the Iranian diaspora residing in the UK, who recognized that their cultural inheritance deserved a brighter stage. For them, Aragh Saggi was a nostalgic phantom — a memory of uncles laughing in smoke-filled rooms, of covert toasts, and of a home left behind.
Driven by a desire to reconnect with their roots and elevate the spirit of their ancestors, Reza and Faz embarked on a mission to revive Aragh Saggi. They sought to strip away the harshness born of necessity and uncover the elegant, nuanced distillate that lay beneath. Their journey led them to meticulously refine the process, using the finest raisins and triple-distillation techniques to create something truly extraordinary.
The result is Peyk Arak. It is not merely a recreation; it is an evolution. It honors the rebellious spirit of the past while embracing the sophistication of modern mixology.

What is "Peyk"?
In Farsi, "Peyk" carries a dual meaning that perfectly encapsulates the brand's ethos. Literally translated, it means "messenger" — a fitting moniker for a spirit bridging the gap between London and Tehran, past and present.
Colloquially, however, a "peyk" is a shot glass, the universal vessel for a toast. It is a call to gather, to celebrate, and to share. With Peyk Arak, Reza and Faz are delivering a message from their heritage, poured into every glass, inviting the world to raise a toast to the enduring spirit of Iran.
